Stainless Steel Foot Valve for Suction Pumps — Spring-Loaded Vertical Check Valve (Anti-Backflow) / Well Bottom Valve
Product Description
The stainless steel foot valve is a type of check valve, also known as a well-bottom valve, suction valve, strainer valve, or "showerhead" valve. Typically installed at the submerged inlet end of a pump's suction pipe, it serves to prevent the liquid within the pump piping from flowing back into the water source, thereby functioning as a one-way valve that allows flow in only one direction. The valve cover features multiple intake ports and reinforcing ribs, a design that effectively minimizes the risk of clogging; consequently, these valves are primarily utilized in pumping pipelines.
Backflow Prevention: Automatically prevents fluid backflow, safeguarding the safe operation of the pump system.
Filtration Function: Equipped with a stainless steel filter screen to effectively block impurities and protect the pump impeller.
Energy-Saving Design: Reduces pump starting resistance and improves operational efficiency.
Corrosion Resistance: Constructed from 304/316 stainless steel, suitable for various media environments.
Working Principle
Open State: When fluid enters the valve body from the bonnet side, the fluid pressure acts upon the valve disc, causing it to open and allowing the medium to flow through. Driven by the pressure of the medium at the inlet end of the pipeline—which overcomes the resistance of the spring—the valve opens, permitting the fluid to flow through smoothly.
Closed State: Once the pressure of the medium within the valve body changes or dissipates, the valve disc automatically closes, preventing backflow of the medium. When the pressure of the medium at the inlet end falls below that at the outlet end, the spring pushes the valve core against the valve seat to close the valve; the valve disc then automatically closes under the combined force of its own weight and the pressure of the backflowing medium.
Technical Features
The valve disc rotates around a pivot pin located outside the valve seat, thereby minimizing severe impact during closure.
The connection between the pivot pin and the valve disc utilizes an internally mounted design, reducing potential external leakage points and ensuring greater operational reliability.
The sealing surfaces of both the valve disc and the valve seat are hard-faced with hard alloy, offering excellent resistance to wear and high temperatures, and ensuring a long service life.
Compatible with various piping flange standards and flange sealing surface types to meet the diverse requirements of different engineering applications.
