Stainless steel sanitary ball valves are fluid control devices specifically designed for industries with high hygiene requirements, such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals. Their working principle involves controlling the flow of fluid by rotating a ball. When the ball rotates to a position where it is in contact with the valve seat, the channel is closed, preventing fluid flow; when the ball rotates to a position where it is separated from the valve seat, the channel opens, allowing fluid to pass through. This design gives the ball valve advantages such as simple structure, convenient operation, and reliable sealing. They are widely used in food, brewing, dairy products, beverage processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. These industries have high hygiene requirements, and the through-flow valve cavity design, absence of media accumulation areas, and smooth surface treatment ensure the purity and sterility of the fluid, meeting the specific needs of these industries.
The construction of a stainless steel sanitary ball valve mainly includes the following parts:
• Valve body: Usually made of stainless steel to meet hygiene and corrosion resistance requirements. The internal structure of the valve body is reasonably designed to ensure that the fluid flows smoothly inside the valve without obstruction, and to facilitate cleaning and disinfection.
• Ball: As a key component, the ball is responsible for controlling the flow of fluid. The ball is usually made of stainless steel or special alloy, and its surface is polished to ensure that the fluid does not become contaminated when flowing over the ball's surface. The ball has an internal channel, and rotation of the ball controls the opening and closing of the fluid flow.
• Valve seat: Closely fits with the ball to prevent fluid leakage. The valve seat is usually made of elastic materials such as PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) or EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), which have good sealing performance and corrosion resistance.
• Valve stem: Connects the actuator and the ball, and is responsible for driving the ball's rotation. The valve stem is usually made of stainless steel, and its surface is polished to prevent fluid residue on the stem surface. The valve stem has an internal channel to allow sealing packing to pass through, thus achieving sealing of the valve stem.
• Sealing packing: Used to fill the gap between the valve stem and the valve body to prevent fluid leakage from the gap. The sealing packing is usually made of materials such as PTFE or graphite, offering excellent sealing performance and corrosion resistance.
• Actuator: The power source of the sanitary ball valve, responsible for driving the valve stem and ball to rotate. Actuators can be manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic, selected according to specific needs.
• Connection method: Typically uses clamp, quick-connect, or flange connections. Clamp connections are convenient and quick, suitable for small-diameter valves; quick-connect connections are suitable for applications requiring frequent disassembly; flange connections are suitable for large-diameter valves and high-pressure environments.
• Auxiliary components: Including drain ports, cleaning ports, and observation windows, used for draining accumulated liquid or gas from inside the valve, cleaning the inside of the valve, and observing the internal working conditions of the valve.
Features of Stainless Steel Sanitary Ball Valves:
• Sanitary standard: Certified to sanitary standards, providing material testing reports to ensure the hygienic performance of the product.
• Strong corrosion resistance: Made of corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, suitable for controlling various corrosive media.
• Good sealing performance: Uses sealing materials and a reasonable sealing structure to ensure the sealing performance of the valve in the closed state.
• Easy operation: Easy to open and close, small in size, and can be made in very large diameters, facilitating installation and maintenance.
• Wide range of applications: Applicable to diameters ranging from a few millimeters to several meters, and from high vacuum to high pressure.
